Supplemental Instruction (SI)
ASAP is Online and Here to Help!
Summer Session Tutoring
The Math and Writing Centers are online for the summer, Monday - Thursday 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Additional hours and subjects are available 24/7 through ThinkingStorm. Tutoring supports are located in the student group on Blackboard.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) provides academic support and the opportunity to engage in free weekly out-of-class review sessions. Led by student leaders, these review sessions will allow you to work with classmates and compare notes, discuss readings, and develop organizational tools.
Benefits of Attending SI Review Sessions
Supplemental Instruction is designed to help you boost your grade and increase your understanding of course material. SI leaders will help identify what you need to learn, and they'll develop a plan that will allow you to learn classroom instruction more efficiently.
Classes Offering SI
Some classes prove to be challenging and are supported by Supplemental Instruction. FLCC works with academic departments to select which courses are best suited for Supplemental Instruction. Check out the tutoring schedule to see the current list of select subject and SI offerings. This list may change each semester.
Become an SI Leader
Becoming an SI Leader adds a valuable component to your resume and it serves as a quality reference to use in the transfer application process to four-year colleges. To land one of these paid positions, you will need to have earned a B or higher in the SI-supported course, be available to attend classes, and lead weekly review sessions for SI students.
