The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 3 locations in our region, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. We are looking for volunteers to help us with our Finger Lakes Walk to End Alzheimer's - held at FLCC in 2024! American Red Cross - Western & Central NY Region
Blood Drive- Greet donors at blood drives, coordinate registration, serve refreshments & observe donors well-being following donations. Also opportunities to help market & recruit for campus blood drives. Community Preparedness- Learn what Red Cross Ready is & take that out to local community groups so they too may be prepared for any type of disasters. Disaster Action Team- Respond to local disaster incidents such as fires, floods, & ice storms. Take advanced training & respond to national emergencies. Breast Cancer Coalition
This is a one-time volunteer opportunity. We would love to have your help volunteering at our annual walk and run event - The Pink & Teal Challenge! Canandaigua Emergency Squad (CES)
CES is the primary emergency medical & ambulance provider that responds to all Emergency and Non Emergency 911 medical requests in the Greater Canandaigua Region in Ontario County, operates entirely without tax-based support, & has done so for 75 years. Volunteer opportunities to fit your lifestyle & level of time commitment. Volunteering on the ambulance (requires 10 hours of training): driving, assisting, or EMT (requires 120 hours of additional training).Office Volunteers: fundraising, answering the phone, and preparing mailings. Facility Volunteers: grounds maintenance (such as lawn care and seasonal cleanup) and building repair (such as painting and light maintenance). (Updated 7/2021)
Canandaigua Lions Club
The Canandaigua Lions Club is a service club that is willing to have anyone over age 18 join, though you are not required to join in order to volunteer. Some of the club's projects are eyeglass reclamation, vision screening, and local veterans support. We would love to reactivate the summer Kids' fishing derby with additional help from the community. There are various individual and group volunteer opportunities, including friendly visits, clerical assignments, recreational activities/programs, escorting Veterans to appointments, events, etc. Before you can begin to volunteer, you must attend a required orientation that lasts approximately 1½ hours, complete paperwork, and have a background check (be fingerprinted).
