Benefits of Learning English as a Speaker of Other Languages

Becoming fluent in English can improve your life in many ways. Here are some of the reasons people study the English language:

  • Improve Career Options - English is the international language of business. Becoming fluent in English opens many new job options.
  • Build Local Community - Not speaking English in the U.S. can feel isolating. This program will introduce you to others in the area who are also learning the language.
  • Prepare for College - Colleges and universities in the U.S., including FLCC, deliver most of their courses in English.
  • Access Digital Information - Whether you're writing emails, reading news, or streaming videos, your access to online content will increase once fluent in English.
