The Marketing Office supports public web content that is clear, current, accessible, and aligned with FLCC’s brand. Use this page to request updates, plan new content, and learn what makes a strong web page.
Request a Web Update
Regular web updates help keep college information accurate and useful. Submit a request when content changes, documents need to be replaced, or a page no longer reflects current programs, services, deadlines, or contacts.
Common Web Update Requests
- Update text on an existing page
- Add or remove a link
- Replace a PDF or document
- Correct outdated information
- Add a new section to an existing page
- Update contact information
- Add or revise a button or call to action
- Remove old deadline or program information
How to Submit a Web Update
Send the web team the page URL, the required change, and the replacement content. For simple updates, you can send an email or a Word document with line edits. For larger updates, include the audience, goal, timeline, and the person or department responsible for approving the content.
Need Help Planning Content?
Not sure whether your update needs a quick edit, a new section, or a larger content review? The Marketing Office can help you choose the best path. Email Adam.Heidebrink-Bruno@flcc.edu or Chuck.Woods@flcc.edu to get started.
Send us the page, your goal, your audience, and a brief description of what you aim to accomplish. We can help clarify the message, recommend a page structure, identify the best call to action, and determine whether the content belongs on the website or in another communication channel.
Web Content Management
Our public website is managed with TerminalFour, the college’s web content management system. TerminalFour enables trained employees to maintain web content while keeping the site centrally structured, accessible, and aligned with FLCC’s brand.
The Marketing Office oversees the public website, including its structure, templates, navigation, accessibility standards, brand alignment, and publishing practices. We use a distributed authoring model to partner with subject-matter experts across the college to keep department, program, service, and office information accurate and up to date.
The Marketing Office works with trained content contributors and moderators to support shared responsibility for the website. Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Marketing Office: Manages the website's overall strategy, structure, standards, templates, accessibility, and brand consistency.
- Content contributors: Draft and update copy, news, and event content for their assigned sections. They ensure information is accurate, current, and accessible.
- Content moderators: Ensure that all drafted content adheres to brand guidelines, accessibility standards (such as alt text for images), and editorial policies before final publication.
Content moderators help keep FLCC’s website accurate, accessible, and consistent.
Training is available to employees responsible for reviewing or updating assigned web content. Content moderators learn to make routine edits, adhere to web accessibility standards, use approved page structures, and keep content aligned with FLCC’s voice and brand.
Training Covers
- How to make basic content updates
- How to write clear headings and links
- How to meet web accessibility standards
- When to request Marketing Office support
Content moderator access is assigned based on departmental needs and role responsibilities. Training is required before making changes to public-facing web content.
The FLCC events calendar helps students, employees, families, and community members discover upcoming events and activities.
Event listings should be clear, complete, and easy to act on. A strong event listing tells users what the event is, who should attend, when and where it takes place, and how to register.
Event listings are managed by trained content moderators throughout the campus community. Departments that host regular events throughout the year have a dedicated events manager. If you do not know who to contact about an event you are organizing, reach out to the marketing team.
Formstack Management
Online forms should make it easy for users to complete tasks, request support, register for an event, or share information with the appropriate office. In most cases, digital forms are more efficient and accessible than PDFs.
The Marketing Office can help review public-facing forms for clarity, usability, accessibility, and alignment with the website. Forms should collect only necessary information and clearly explain what happens after submission.
We provide Formstack training for employees who regularly collect information for college programming. If you need to collect information for a single project, the marketing team can set up the form for you.
Employee Directory Profiles
The employee directory helps students, colleagues, and community members connect with the right person. It automatically lists basic contact information, including name, title, department, phone number, email address, and office location. You can get a profile photo by scheduling an appointment with our Media Production Specialist.
Employees may choose to add an expanded profile to showcase their work experience and areas of expertise.
An expanded directory profile may include:
- A short professional biography
- Up to 5 areas of expertise
- Up to 5 awards and recognitions
Documents and PDFs
Not every document belongs on the website. Whenever possible, important information should be published as a web page rather than as a PDF. Web pages are easier to search, read on mobile devices, translate, update, and make accessible.
When to Use a PDF
- The document is an official form, report, policy, or printable resource
- The layout must be preserved
- The document is approved for public distribution
- The file has been checked for accessibility
PDFs posted on the public website must be accessible. If a PDF contains important public information, the Marketing Office may recommend converting it to web content.
