Campus Hazing Transparency Report
The Stop Campus Hazing Act (SCHA) is a piece of legislation that became law in December 2024, which requires, among other things, institutions to develop and distribute a Campus Hazing Transparency Report (CHTR, or “Report”) and report hazing statistics in the Annual Security Report as required by the Clery Act.
Hazing Prevention Commitment
FLCC is dedicated to fostering a safe and respectful campus environment where hazing is strictly prohibited. Hazing is defined as any intentional, knowing, or reckless act committed against another person that creates a substantial risk of physical or psychological injury, regardless of that person's willingness to participate. As part of our commitment to preventing hazing, we have taken initiatives to educate students, faculty, and staff about the dangers of hazing, promote ethical leadership, and build a supportive community.
Hazing Reporting Process
FLCC encourages the reporting of hazing incidents and takes every report seriously. All reports are thoroughly investigated in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Any person may report a potential hazing incident in person, by mail, by telephone, by electronic mail, or by contacting the FLCC Campus Police Department.
Campus Hazing Transparency Reporting
In accordance with the Stop Campus Hazing Act, Finger Lakes Community College will compile and publish relevant information for each hazing incident for which a recognized student organization was found responsible. Beginning July 1, 2025, this information will be collected and then published (and updated) twice a year.
2025-2026 Academic Year
There have been no findings of hazing during this time period.
