College Credit for Military Service

Military friendly school logo and FLCC main campus.

Your valuable service in the military may qualify as college credit. Finger Lakes Community College can help you determine to what extent your service has advanced your education.

DD214s

Do you need a copy of your DD214? If you do not have your DD214, or cannot find it, FLCC will be happy to assist you in obtaining a copy.

To obtain or amend a copy of your military service record and/or your Official Military Personnel File (DD-214, OMPFs), please visit the Military Personnel Records Center (MPRC) website, which is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

Please note: The Department of Veterans Affairs does not maintain records of veterans’ military service, except as necessary for providing benefits from VA.

Joint Service Transcript (JST)

JST is the Joint Services Transcript that has replaced the Coast Guard Institute Transcript, the Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS) and the Sailor/Marine American Council on Education Registry Transcript (SMART).

JST is an academically accepted document approved by the American Council on Education (ACE). It validates a service member's military occupational experience and training, in addition to the necessary corresponding ACE college credit recommendations. Visit Joint Services Transcript for more information.
