Summer camp registration opens
The camps take place in July at the College's campus centers in Geneva, Newark and Victor.
FLCC will host week-long camps this summer for students who will enter grades 6 through 9 in fall 2025.
Camps are held at the campus centers in Geneva, Newark and Victor this summer. Called STEAM campus, each has science, technology, engineering, art and math elements.
Dates and themes are as follows:
July 7-11, STEAM in Motion, Victor Campus Center, off Route 251
Students will explore how science and technology can be used to create objects that roll, glide, propel, and fly. Students will design mechanical parts, create electrical circuits, and learn about robotics.
July 14-18, Cooking with STEAM, Geneva Campus Center, 63 Pulteney St.
Campers will approach cooking creatively and scientifically with sessions related to meal preparation and presentation, kitchen chemistry and safety, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture. Students will experience local cuisine and learn about aspects of the food industry in the Finger Lakes.
July 21-25, Full STEAM Ahead, Newark Campus Center, off Route 88
Campers will learn about STEAM career and educational pathways during hands-on activities using the latest technology. Topics include robotics, advanced manufacturing, virtual welding, and engineering.
Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $250. A limited number of scholarships will be available, based on household income. Students may attend more than one camp.
