Muller Field Station Talk on the Wild Side: Vernal Pools

Muller Field Station is hosting a "Talk on the Wild Side" series this spring! Join us for our first talk of 2026 on vernal pools.
Carlin Shew and Abbey Welch of New York State Parks, Recreation, and Historic Sites will join Muller Field Station for an exciting evening about vernal pool stewardship at NYS Park, Harriet Hollister Spencer Recreation Area.
Carlin and Abby will introduce guests to vernal pools, the species that thrive in this unique habitat, and why Harriet Hollister Spencer Recreation Area is known for its large vernal pool complex.
Carlin lives in Trumansburg, NY, and is the FORCES (Friends of Recreation, Conservation and Environmental Stewardship) Program Specialist for the Finger Lakes Region of New York State Parks.
Abbey Welch lives in Honeoye, NY, and works out of the Environmental Field Office at Ganondagan State Historic Site as the Finger Lakes Regional Stewardship Project Coordinator.
