The Villa Romana del Casale is a large and elaborate Roman villa located about 1.8 miles from the town of Piazza Armerina in Sicily. Excavations have revealed Roman mosaics considered among the richest, largest and most varied collections from the period.
The site is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the villa and its artwork date to the early fourth century A.D.
