Talk on the Wild Side: Assessing Habitat Quality for Grassland Birds

Join FLCC Conservation Department Technical Specialist II Shannon Dermody at Muller Field Station for a talk on local grassland habitats.

Come learn about grassland habitats, their importance for the bird species that depend on its vitality, and current research being done to assess the quality of local grassland habitats!

Shannon Dermody, FLCC environmental conservation technical specialist and friend of Muller Field Station, is joining MFS for this exciting talk! Shannon will present her thesis research, introduce us to the state of grassland birds and their habitats in the Northeast, and discuss novel approaches used to study this group of birds. Shannon will begin her field work in April 2026 and is excited to share her proposed research with the MFS community.
