Featured speaker, Scott Ostrowski from Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes, will present "Trauma Informed Care: More Than a Buzz Word" for FLCC students, staff & faculty.
Training Description:
As a society and a profession, we hear the phrase “Trauma Informed” everywhere but what does it really mean to be Trauma Informed? This training will explore the continuum of becoming trauma informed to trauma responsive and ultimately healing centered. Changing language from what is wrong with this person to what happened to this person and how to build on the strengths of the individual.
Target Audience: any students currently working in or planning a future internship or career in the helping professions with an interest in learning more about trauma informed care.
Lunch will be served following the presentation. RSVP required.
