FLCC's New Media program is designed to provide you practical experience with new digital communication technologies, and you'll apply what you're learning as you learn it, joining theory and practice seamlessly.
Additionally, this program is designed to build your understanding of the creative process, while promoting and encouraging personal creative expression.
Through integrated coursework in video production and editing, multimedia, audio production, and graphic design, you'll learn how to design and create graphics, audio, video, and other content for websites, social media, and emerging technologies. Further, New Media and Communications students study side-by-side, establishing a solid foundation for professional networking.

Your education will feature practical experience in two Macintosh media labs, extensive PC computer labs, and a 900 square foot on-campus television studio. Throughout your studies, you'll utilize industry standard tools and programs, such as Avid nonlinear editing software, Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, digital still cameras, digital camcorders, and digital studio cameras.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this degree program, students will be able to:
- Distinguish and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively using a variety of digital media.
- Analyze an audience and form a message to effectively reach that audience.
- Create and defend creative works using digital media, video, print, multimedia, and the spoken word.

With a degree in New Media from FLCC, you'll be ready to transfer or start your career in digital media, multimedia, or a related communications field. Some students have even gone into business for themselves after graduation, and the broad skillset gained through this program prepares them for entrepreneurship.
This program is often the launching point for more specific fields of study or employment. FLCC offers an articulation agreement with Nazareth College, and graduates have transferred to colleges and universities, such as:
