Newark is located in the Town of Arcadia in the south-central portion of Wayne County. Just a short drive from Lake Ontario, the scenic Finger Lakes region, and the NYS Thruway, Newark is 35 miles east of Rochester on Route 31. Situated in a county known for its beautiful rural countryside, the Village of Newark has been referred to as the county's commercial and industrial "hub." The historic Erie Canal winds through the village, highlighted by the T. Spencer Knight Park.
