FLCC strives to lead the sustainability efforts of the region through modeling sustainable practices and educating students and the community about conservation and environmental stewardship. In March 2008, former FLCC President Barbara Risser signed the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment, and the college developed an institutional plan for climate neutrality by 2030.
Our new Student Center is a shining example of FLCC’s commitment to sustainability. The Student Center is Ontario County’s first public LEED-certified building, meaning it meets environmentally-friendly criteria established by the U.S. Green Building Council.
We are incorporating sustainability initiatives into every aspect of the college, including daily operations, curriculum, student life, and community outreach. Learn more about FLCC’s green practices.
What is Sustainability?
