Outdoor Recreation Certificate
You can earn an Outdoor Recreation certificate in just one year! This program is designed for you if you plan to seek employment or further your skills in the Environmental Conservation/Outdoor Recreation fields. This program also will benefit you if you hold a degree in other disciplines that will pair well with Environmental Conservation/Outdoor Recreation training. You also may be interested if you serve, or plan to serve, in an appointed or elected environmental decision-making position.
Curriculum Requirements
For this certificate, you must successfully complete the following:
Required Courses (30-31 Credit Hours)
- CON 100 Introduction to Environmental Conservation (3)
- CON 101 Principles of Soils, Waters, Forests (3)
- Conservation/Environmental Electives (15)
- CON 190 Conservation Recreation Field Camp (3)
- Social Science Elective (3) OR Humanities Elective* (3)
- Science Elective (3-4) OR Technology Elective (3-4) OR Computer Elective (3-4) OR Mathematics Elective (3-4)
Notes:
* After consultation with an advisor, students may fulfill this requirement with a General Elective.
