Our Adult Basic Education programs can help you improve your basic reading, writing, and math skills. Earn your high school diploma and enhance your English language skills for free at FLCC.

Who Should Take Adult Basic Education Courses?

Our adult basic education courses are designed for the following student populations:

  • Adults who did not complete high school and want to earn a diploma
  • Non-English speaking adults who want to learn the language
  • International students who want to prepare for TOEFL iBT exam

High School Equivalency (HSE)

FLCC's free non-credit HSE courses will help you improve your basic skills and prepare you to earn your General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Successful completion of the GED leads you to earning your HSE diploma from the New York State Education Department.

Classes and study materials are 100% free.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Learn or improve your English language skills with FLCC's free non-credit ESL courses. FLCC offers beginning, intermediate, and advanced ESL courses. Small class sizes and self-paced learning will help you build confidence as you practice reading, writing, and speaking English.
